Well what you can do to get around pretty much any block someone chooses to play on you is to use a SSL encrypted tunnel. The advantage here is that the traffic is enycrpted at your computer and only able to be decrypted into plaintext when it reaches the intended destination. A simple way to do this is use a SSL proxy from hidemyass.com (Not advocating unlawful activity).

Oh btw that is a gross oversimplification. Have a look on wiki for details http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_server#Types_of_proxy hidemyass is a reverse proxy.
